This paper examines a stratified population in which each individual is evaluated m times considering the presence or absence of a particular characteristic with binary responses supplied by the same set of m observers. The position of each group of subjects is determined introducing a relevant index which measures the degree of presence of the characteristic in the group in relation to the population at large and with respect to all the observers together. This result can be reached either by synthesizing group partial indices, obtained from the information compiled by each observer, or directly constructing a global index on synthetic judgements made on each individual. The relationship between the two synthesis functions, obtained from two different models, can be completely defined only after full examination of all the subjects therefore it is not possible to originally select one function without losing some control of the other, or vice versa. How to Cite
