Abstract

For the analysis of square contingency tables with ordered categories, Tomizawa (1984,1986, 1987, 1989) considered an extended marginal homogeneity (EMH) model. This note proposes a model having the structure of EMH plus the main-diagonal equiprobability. This model is applied to the data on repeated Japanese TV-channel selection which were earlier reported in NMDA (1987) and also analysed by Sagae (1987).
