The graphical representations in the context of the evolution of Statistics in Italy throughout the 19-th century are described. The article offers an excursus on the production of statistical graphs in Italy throughout the 19-th century. It is divided into two main parts. The first one refers to the situation prior to the reunification of the country, and the emphasis is placed upon authors such as Gioia, Romagnosi, Cattaneo, Messedaglia, Baldi (the author of one of the first examples of statistical charts together with Guerry), Giulio, Correnti and Maestro In the second part, the main graphic production of the period from the Unification of Italy up to the end of the century is covered; this period sees the "Direzione Generale della Statistica", under Luigi Bodio, as the main reference point of this production. Besides Bodio, the figure of Quintino Sella, Finance Minister of the period, must be recalled. He gave a contribution that was by no means negligible to the utilization of statistical graphs in Italy. How to Cite
