The article deals with two different topics. First, it stresses the cultural and institutional meanings of the recent issue of a deontological code regulating the treatment of personal information collected or used for scientific purposes. Second, the article tries to show how the new rules affect the main steps of a sociological survey, namely the sampling procedure, the field work and interviewing arrangements, and the storage of personal information in an electronic data warehouse.Downloads
